Sly Monkeys - February 2011 - Sky High Sports
We had to think long and hard about an activity where everyone could have fun for cheap.
Rock climbing is up there too, but not everyone would have fun due to the difficulty of some of the routes. And it's about $20-$25 after the drop in fee, renting shoes, harnesses and chalk / chalk bags. We may decide to do that another weekend.
We also thought about going to the go kart race track, paintballing, maybe even the gun range or mountain biking. But in the end, we decided, "Lets go jumping!"
It's intimidating walking into Sky High Sports believe it or not. There are so many kids! Everywhere. And anyone who was our age (25 to 35) was on the side, not jumping. And the kids are so good at this stuff. Most of us had to re-teach ourselves how to flip. We definitely stuck out. Kids thought we were employees, and the employees seemed glad that there were other people who were older that they could talk to.
What a blast though. $11 for 1-hour, and I don't think any of us could have gone 2 full hours.
We went around 2 PM on a Sunday, and the crowds weren't terrible. There were a lot of birthday parties going on, and about every 30 minutes, they announced another birthday over the speakers. I'm curious what it would be like in the evening, since they're open until 10 PM. Maybe the crowd is older?
Just a heads up though, cell phones need to be kept in the car. One of ours is missing; either in the foam pit, under the trampolines, or because someone decided to take it.
Thanks to Fonner for the background track.
